Berg + Moss Architects 2022

Bio-char banners hang above lump bio-char (aka charcoal). This is a collaboration between mid-career artist T. Charnan Lewis and her 13 year old daughter, Zora Hummingbird. Lewis draws the landscapes and Hummingbird populates them with foxes. Both artists are influenced by the work of climate scientist Amanda Simson, associate chemical engineering professor at Cooper Union and foremother of bio-char carbon sequestering technologies and processes.
